Workshop for Candidates for Trainers Diploma

Fifteen credentialed trainers from the six regions of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines attended the Workshop for Candidates for Trainers Diploma, held at the Helena Z Benitez National Program & Training Center, Tagaytay City on October 11-13, 2007. Output of the workshop were one and two-day courses designed for new and experienced troop leaders. The participants also created activities that would carry out the objectives of the different modules.

Before the workshop proper session on the following topics were conducted: What is Active Training, Designing Active Trainings, Developing Active Training Objectives and Adult Learning Styles.

Permission for teacher-troop leaders to be trained during school days is now getting more and more difficult. One way to get them to the training room is to offer one or two-day courses which could be conducted on weekends, hence, the workshop. It also served another purpose, that of fulfilling the written paper requirement for trainers diploma.

Breakdown of participants per region is as follows: Western Mindanao, two (2); Eastern Mindanao, one (1); Visayas, two (2); three (3) from Southern Luzon; three (3) from Central Luzon and four (4) from Northern Luzon.
