19th National Trainers Conference (NTC)


The 19th National Trainers Conference (NTC) with the theme “The GSP Trainer: Ready for Change, Ready to Lead” ran from May 28-30, 2008 at Ating Tahanan NPTC in Baguio City. A total of 112 trainers coming from the six GSP regions attended the event.


Invited as keynote speaker was Ambassador Isabel C. Wilson, former Philippine Ambassador to Spain. Tapped as resource speakers were Dr. Reylita E. Cubillas-Calimlim of Pines City Colleges who handled New Leadership Paradigm/Concepts and Models, Ms. Marissu G. Bugante of Philippine Association for Volunteer Efforts, Inc. (PAVE) who talked about Sense and Sensibility of Volunteerism, and PSr/Insp Ma. Theresa Guinto-Pucay of Baguio City Police Office who discussed Women and Children Protection. The workshops were facilitated by the Chairman of the Training Committee, Atty. Susan N. De Los Reyes together with her members, Mrs. Norma R. Valencia, Dr. Rosenda A. De Gracia and Ms. Margarite R. Ponce De Leon. Mrs. Yolanda C. Hernandez, GSP National Secretary and Ms. Ida Corazon I. Huliganga, former GSP Training Director also served as workshop facilitators.

During the opening of the conference, Mrs. Ma. Dolores T. Santiago, National Executive Director, lighted the NTC candle while Mrs. Teresita B. Choa, National President, gave the welcome message. The “thoughts to bring home” during the closing ceremony was imparted by 1st National Vice-President, Mrs. Susan R. Locsin. Other highlights of the event were the Barn Party and Commitment to Developmental Leadership Ceremony. The conference was a success in bringing together GSP Trainers from different parts of the country to learn and to enjoy each other’s company.
